Literature
The beginning and end of literature took place during the middle ages. During this time scholars and poets learned new ways of writing, and languages saw development. The greatest numbers of books during this era were bound with plain boards. Simple tooled leather was used for more expensive volumes.
Some famous medieval times writers were Caedmon, Venerable Bede, Geoffrey Chaucer, Magery Kempe, John Gower, Francesco Petrarch, Dante, Christine de Pizan, William Longland, Boccaccio, and Raphael Holinshed.
