Medieval entertainment depended on the social class of the person. Some general forms of entertainment included feasts, banquets, jousts and tournaments, mystery plays, fairs, games and sports, hunting, hawking, animal entertainment using dogs, bears, and monkeys. Some of there games were chess, shovelboard, knucklebones, backgammon, fox and geese, and hazard.
Outdoor medieval entertainment archery, bowls, colf, gameball, hammer, hurling or shinty, horseshoes, quarter, skittles, stoolball, and wrestling. Outdoor entertainment also included festivals like the May Day when people danced around a maypole and choose a Queen of the May.
